[UPDATE] Funeral Arrangements Set For Crash Victim

30-year-old Christina Smith was killed after the car she was riding in flipped over multiple times, ejecting both her and her husband Nathan Smith.

Nathan was the driver at the time and deputies said he loss control of the vehicle and hospital officials say he remains in serious condition.

Services for Christina Smith are set for Wednesday at three in the afternoon at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Thomasville.

"Everyone says how nice she was and she was very pretty and all that and it's hard to imagine," said Thomasville Resident Hope Hunter.

Hope Hunter describes a woman she said her husband worked and went to school with.

Hunter says she was shocked to hear that 30-year-old Christina Smith died around 10 o'clock Saturday night.

Deputies said her husband Nathan Smith, lost control of the vehicle causing him to run off the road, ejecting both of them from the car.

The couple's child, a 3rd grader at Cross Creek Elementary was not in the car at the time of the crash.

"This is the time for family to stand and support each other and take things that have been done and throw it in the past and help the little child because he will need help," said Thomasville Resident Johnny Everett.

WCTV has confirmed that Christina Smith was the sister of Shannon Chihuahua, the Thomasville soldier who was killed in Afghanistan in November 2010.

Kristen Chihuahua, the widow of Shannon Chihuahua released a statement saying, ""I considered "Stina" my sister and best friend."

Chihuahua said her fondest memories of her sister-in-law are jokes and the love she showed her family members.

Hospital officials said Nathan Smith remains in serious condition. WCTV reached out to Christina's immediate family but they declined to comment.

Two accidents in South Georgia on Saturday night leaves two people dead.

In the first accident, Thomas County Deputies say two people were ejected from a vehicle on Dillon Road Saturday 3-5 night . Deputies say Nathan Smith lost control of his vehicle, causing him to run off the road. His 31-year-old wife Christina, who was a passenger, died in the accident. WCTV has confirmed that Christina Smith was the sister of Shannon Chihuaua, the Thomasville soldier who was killed in Afghanistan in November 2010. Christina also worked at Flowers Bakery in Downtown Thomasville. Hospital officials say Nathan Smith remains in serious condition.

Two hours later, in Pelham, Georgia, 36-year- old Jeffrey Mercer was killed in a head on collision. Deputies say Mercer was driving the wrong way on U.S. 19 and struck a tractor trailer then crashed into a car. Two people in the other vehicle were taken to the hospital.

31-year-old Christina Smith died over the weekend and after being ejected from a vehicle her husband was driving.

WCTV has confirmed that Christina Smith was the sister of Shannon Chihuahua, the Thomasville solider who was killed in Afghanistan in November 2010.

Allen & Allen Funeral Home will be providing her funeral services.

Christina's husband is still in the hospital. He was also ejected out of the vehicle.

Thomas County Sheriff's PIO confirmed around 10 p.m. Saturday night two individuals were ejected from a vehicle on Dillon Road in Thomas County. Deputies said Nathan Smith lost control of his vehicle causing him to run off the road. His wife, 31-year-old Christina Smith, a passenger in the vehicle was killed. Deputies said Nathan Smith was taken to the hospital.

Georgia State Patrol said around 12 a.m. 36-year- old Jeffrey Mercer was killed in a head on collision. Mercer was driving the wrong way on U.S. 19 and struck a tractor trailer then crashed into another car. Troopers say Mercer was driving a Honda Accord and was killed instantly. Two others in the other vehicle were taken to the hospital.
Troopers said the cause of the accident is still undetermined.
