On July 1, 2012 at approximately 0230 hours, the Valdosta Police Department responded to 1903 Bancroft Road in reference to a call about two persons being stabbed and one person being shot.
Officers arrived on scene and located Leroy Brown in the front yard with stab wounds to his upper left arm/shoulder. At that time Ellis Sharper walked up with a stab wound to his upper right arm. Telicia Horne was located inside the residence with what appeared to be a “grazing” gunshot wound to the head, but she was conscious and alert.
According to witnesses and those involved, Brown and Horne, who are reportedly engaged, became involved in an argument, at some point during the altercation Horne stabbed Brown with a knife and the handgun that Brown had, discharged, grazing the side of Horne’s head.
Sharper was trying to break up the initial fight, when he was stabbed by Horne. Detectives from the Valdosta Police Department and a Crime Scene Technician from the Valdosta-Lowndes Regional Crime Lab responded to investigate. The victims were transported by EMS to the SGMC ER where they were treated and are expected to make full recoveries.
Sharper was treated and released from the hospital. Horne and Brown were treated and released into the custody of the Valdosta Police Department. Horne and Brown were transported to the Lowndes County Jail and are being charged with Aggravated Assault.
