Valdosta, GA - Valdosta State University President, William McKinney, held a State of the University Address on the VSU campus Friday.
In the address, President McKinney outlined the university's accomplishments in the last year, including graduating over 2,700 students and gave an overview of the upcoming fiscal year's budget. He says the university still needs to work on engaging students, alumni, and the community.
"In the coming year, one of the things I'm really excited about is how we are going to start to highlight our faculty. The more we invest in our faculty, the more they do as just incredible scholars; as great teachers. And of course, our students are also the beneficiaries of that."
McKinney also says he is looking forward to the new $million Student Success Center that will provide students with a one-stop-shop for all their academic needs.
