Zeta Tao Alpha hosts this event each semester.

Officials with the center say they supply a majority of the blood donations to hospitals across the South Georgia and North Florida area.

Organizers say typically about 100 people give blood during the drive to help the community.

"I feel like we're making a great impact because we hold a blood drive each semester and I know that the local hospitals depend on the blood we collect here to help with blood transfusions and other things that are going on in the community," says Chelsea Bartholomew.

Officials say blood mobiles came from Tallahassee, Thomasville and Douglas County to help with Thursday’s blood drive.
