Valdosta State's Holiday Helper program will reach a record 140 kids.

At the Student Union, a Christmas tree adorned with ornaments details gifts for area children.

So far, students and faculty have dropped off hundreds of presents to make their Christmas brighter.

"They're able to have things that they may want and also need," said Alecia Beck, a graduate assistant at VSU. "Such as a sweater, jackets and then also see a skateboard sitting up underneath the tree, or a baby doll that they've been wanting for days."

VSU will deliver gifts this week.

Anyone who'd like to drop off last-minute presents still has time
