Valdosta State is hosting Computing Adventures this week.

Students learn how to build robots and programming them to do different things.

Many of the kids used their robots for racing.

Teachers say while students are having fun they are also learning.

"There are not many schools around here which offer computer science subjects so that's the vacuum we are trying to fill up," said VSU Professor Krishnendu Roy. "We are trying to introduce them to computer science because this is a really booming field right now."

These student will get a chance to show off their creations Friday to their parents.
