The Valdosta Symphony Orchestra and Second Harvest of South Georgia are partnering for the 2nd Annual Orchestra's Feeding America drive.
To combat hunger, members encourage anyone with canned and packaged foods to drop them off at area collection boxes.
"The way economy has been, with everyone struggling these days, and also that the food banks have been stretched to their limits, food is needed more than every to feed hungry families," said Howard Hsu, music director of the Valdosta Symphony Orchestra and coordinator of the food drive.
Non-perishable foods can be dropped off at VSU's Fine Arts Building, the Student Union and the lobby of the Annette Howell Turner Center on Patterson Street.
The symphony will be performing a special concert named Out of this World Saturday, March 26 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, March 27 at 3 p.m.
To purchase tickets call (229) 333-2150.
Collection boxes for the Orchestras Feeding America Drive are located in the front entrance.
