Valdosta, Georgia - June 9, 2011

This summer, 30 Valdosta High School students are enrolled in VSU's Upward Bound program.

The classes help them to achieve a university level education by improving their test scores and study skills.

"A lot of these students might not have the exposure on how to fill out college applications," says Ryan Dixon, an Upward Bound counselor. "This program not only helps them with the skills they need to do it, but also the know-how on how to succeed."

VSU's Upward Bound program has a 100-percent success rate of getting students into college.

Thirty Valdosta High students are furthering their education today. They're enrolled in VSU's Upward Bound program, which helps them prepare for college.
