Valdosta Burglary Suspects Arrested

On March 24, 2014 at approximately 1130 a.m. a homeowner came home and found two males leaving his residence carrying armloads of the homeowner’s property to include multiple firearms. The homeowner attempted to detain the individuals.

One of the males stayed and surrendered while the other male ran off into a wooded area. Valdosta Police Department patrol officers, detectives, K-9 officers, and Crime Laboratory personnel arrived on scene along with personnel from the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Department. A perimeter was set up and K-9 units began tracking the suspect.

17 year old D’Ante Scruggs was located in a swampy area between Pebblewood Drive and Lake Drive. He was taken into custody and some of the stolen property was recovered. A second suspect, 18 year old Antonio Webb was arrested at the residence. Both offenders were transported to the Lowndes County Jail, and detectives are currently determining the charges that will be brought against each offender.

The offenders are being held pending further judicial proceedings.
