Valdosta Fire Department Participates In "Give Burns The Boot" Drive

The Valdosta Fire Department, along with over 100 fire departments in the state of Georgia are collecting money for the Burn Foundation.

More than 100 fire departments across the state of Georgia are out in the community collecting donations for the Burn Foundation.

It's called "Give Burns The Boot" where you can give a donation to the fire department to help fun the Georgia Firefighters Burn Foundation.

The Burn Foundation offers camps for burn-injured children, burn victim support groups and other programs. The Valdosta Fire Department is also collecting aluminum cans that count as a donation as well.

"The Burn Foundation does a lot of things for victims of burns and particularly with kids. They provide a lot of support for burn victims families, a lot of good things so it's a chance for us to feel real good," said Valdosta Fire Captain John Wisenbaker.

Valdosta Firefighters will be at the following Valdosta sites from 3 to 7 p.m. on Thursday and Friday and from 1 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, unless otherwise noted:

-Wal-Mart Supercenter at 340 Norman Drive
-Wal-Mart Supercenter at 3274 Perimeter Road (Thursday only)
-Harvey’s Supermarket at 2111 Bemis Road (Thursday and Friday only)
-Harvey’s Supermarket at 4036 Bemis Road (Thursday and Friday only)
-Winn Dixie at 1105 Madison Highway
-Winn Dixie at 3200 North Ashley Street
-Sam’s Club at 450 Norman Drive (Friday and Saturday only)
