Valdosta Tea Party Speaks Out Against SPLOST

Valdosta, GA - The Valdosta Tea Party is speaking out against a Penny Tax.

They held a public forum Thursday at the steps of the Old Courthouse. They say the projects planned for the tax are unnecessary in a down economy.

It's called SPLOST or the Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax.

This is not a new tax, but an extension. This would be the seventh cycle if voters approve it. If passed, SPLOST will be worth an estimated $150 million dollars over the six year period.
