Valdosta, Georgia - June 18, 2011
Thirty organizations set-up shop at Pinevale Learning Center, to celebrate Valdosta's 19th Annual June teenth Celebration.
Also known as National Freedom Day, the event honors the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation in 1863.
"It is a very meaningful celebration," says Beverley Richardson-Blake, the chairwoman of the Southside Library Boosters. "It is an opportunity for us to salute our heroes here in this community. Those folks who have worked tirelessly to make a difference."
All donations benefit the Southside Library.
Proceeds help to buy supplies and equipment.
