About 500 people turned out for the Cash Prosperity Campaign's Money Empowerment Day.
One-on-one tax filings were offered for anyone earning $49,000 or less, and tons of non-profit organizations came together for area families.
Ten certified tax preparers made sure citizens filled out their forms... At no cost to them.
"All of our volunteers are trained and certified to prepare taxes," said
JaTaryia Thomas, the executive director of the C.A.S.H. Prosperity Campaign. "It's all free. Not only do we have tax preparation but we also have the Department of Human Resources is out here to doing benefit screens."
At the end of March, a "Super Saturday" resource fair will be offered for citizens who still need their taxes prepared.
