At the Valdosta Mall, VPD's Mobile Command Center is parked off Norman Drive.
Officers say it's a complete 9-1-1 dispatch center, equipped with a surveillance console and 360 degree aerial camera to monitor activity.
ID theft, credit card fraud and shoplifting are some of the crimes this mobile unit can respond to immediately.
"[The] advantage they have if they see something going on, they have their radio right there and can immediately radio officers there in the area that something doesn't look right, something may be going on and you can have officers here immediately," said Captain Bobbi McGraw, with the Valdosta Police Department.
The mobile command center will be on site until New Year's.
