More than 500 people turned out for the King of the Hill Drag Race for remote control cars in Valdosta

About 20 cars faced off and became a highlight of Home Depot's Spring Kickoff.

As cars zipped down the course, spectators eagerly kept their eyes on these speed racers.

Coordinators say its a great bonding event for fathers and sons.

"It helps them to work together as a team," said Andre Newson, who coordinated the drag racing event. "And it builds character in the child and the father leads him on and pushing him to do well."

During the event, a Joey Logaro No. 20 Nascar was on display for spectators to enjoy.
