Victims Hold Armed Robber Until Officers Arrive In Valdosta

On December 11, 2013 at approximately 7:33 pm, the Valdosta Police Department responded to 230 Blue Pool Drive in reference to an armed robbery in progress.

Officers arrived, found one of the victims holding onto Damien Moore, who was placed into custody. The victims indicated that they were on the back porch when Moore approached them, produced a handgun, and then demanded their money and cell phones. Detectives and Crime Laboratory Personnel were called to the scene to investigate.

Moore had his face covered, but during the struggle with the victims, his face was uncovered and the victims recognized him. They were able to hold Moore until officers arrived.

The handgun was recovered and was determined to have been stolen.

Moore, who was transported to the Lowndes County Jail, is being charged with 3 counts of Armed Robbery, 3 counts of Aggravated Assault, Burglary, Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Crime, Theft by Receiving Stolen Property, and Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana.
