Associated Press Release
MACON, Ga. (AP) -- A candlelight vigil has been planned for three dogs that were killed during a break-in at a middle Georgia animal shelter.
The Telegraph of Macon (http://bit.ly/18yZ8aB ) reports a suspect broke into the All About Animals shelter between Wednesday night and Thursday morning and let several pit bulls and bulldogs loose inside the facility.
Volunteers have said they believe the suspect used the shelter's dogs as bait to get their own dog used to fighting others, possibly as part of a dogfighting ring.
The vigil is scheduled for 7 p.m. Sunday at the shelter near Central City Park in Macon.
