Wiregrass Georgia Technical College has received $400,000 to prepare area students for jobs in south Georgia.

By taking a certified Work Ready test, potential employees can become eligible for positions in such fields as manufacturing, health care and government.

"It helps attract business and industry who have been looking to come to south Georgia because we can prove we have a qualified workforce ready to go into the job market for them," said Ray Perren, the president of the college.
