Atlanta, GA (AP) - Panda fans may get to see 3-month-old cub Po in
person sooner than planned.
Zoo Atlanta officials say mother Lun Lun (loon loon) carried the cub into a public viewing area Tuesday. The pair has been secluded since Po's birth in November, but zoo keepers are giving them more freedom to roam their exhibit in preparation for the cub's public debut.
Zoo visitors may catch a glimpse of the cub between now and his
official debut late next month.
Po weighs about 10 pounds. He was the only giant panda cub born at a U.S. zoo last year.
The zoo held a naming ceremony for the cub last week, giving him the name Po after the main character in animated hit "Kung Fu Panda." Actor Jack Black, the voice of Po in the movie, was on hand for the ceremony.
