ATHENS, Ga. (AP) -- An underage University of Georgia baseball
player has been arrested on alcohol-related charges.
UGA police said a patrolling officer caught 20-year-old Levi Hyams climbing a fence at the school's Campus Transit facility around 1:00 Saturday morning.
The Athens Banner Herald reported on the arrest Monday.
Police say Hyams gave the officer a fake name and fraudulent Virginia driver's license before admitting his true identity.
The sophomore, who just turned 20, was charged with underage
possession of alcohol, giving false information and possession of fraudulent ID.
Coach David Perno declined to comment, but a spokesman said Perno is aware of the arrest and will handle it in-house under team rules.
