Springtime Tallahassee Weekend Kicks Off

Friday in Downtown Tallahassee, the Springtime Tallahassee weekend of festivities kicked off with the Downtown GetDown.

"No Parking" signs will be posted downtown, and towing will begin at 2:00 pm Friday.

Also, Adams St will be closed from Pensacola St to Park Ave East, and College Ave will be closed from Monroe St to Duval St., all beginning at 4:30 pm Friday, and remain closed until 7:00 pm Saturday.

Saturday, Springtime Tallahassee Parade and 10K Run. The parade route will extend from 6th Ave. south along Monroe St., and will end at Gaines St. The side streets along the parade route on Monroe St. between 7th St. and Gaines St. will be closed beginning at 5am. The parade route will be closed to traffic beginning at 8am. and will not re-open until 1pm.

In addition, the Springtime 10K Run takes place Saturday morning, beginning at 8:30 a.m. The run begins downtown, proceeds through the Myers Park Neighborhood, and ends on Suwannee St. next to the Florida DOT building. Motorist are asked to use extreme caution in the vicinity of the race route, and obey instructions from TPD officers.
