Yolanda King Dies

Flags are at half-staff today at the King Center after the death of the oldest child of civil rights leader the Reverend Martin Luther King, Jr.

Yolanda Denise King died late Tuesday in Santa Monica, California. She was 51.

As an actress, she appeared in numerous films and even played Rosa Parks in the 1978 miniseries “King.” She also appeared in “Ghosts of Mississippi.”

She also was an author and advocate for peace and nonviolence.

    Yolanda will be greatly missed. I know the family will cope after having lost their father and mother.
