Despite the high price of gasoline, more Floridians will travel this Memorial Day holiday than last year, although fewer of them will be traveling by car. That's the word from AAA.
The AAA Auto Club South says the high cost of gasoline won't keep Floridians home this holiday weekend.
The auto club estimates that more than two million Floridians will take a trip 50 miles or more from home. That's a tenth of a percent above a year ago.
AAAA says the West will produce the most number of travelers this holiday weekend with more than nine million people planning to hit the road or take to the airways.
The southeast is second with nearly eight million planning to travel.
