The search has ended for the man authorities say attempted to murder his girlfriend.
Bill Taylor turned himself into Wakulla County authorities at about 1 a.m. Monday, at the urging of his family.
He was on the run since last week and had been hiding in the national forest.
Detectives say he held his girlfriend against her will inside her own home on Anna Drive in Crawfordville for an hour and a half. They say he was choking her and firing shots.
Taylor will have his first court appearance this morning and will be charged with several counts including attempted murder, kidnapping and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
