Body Found Outside Vacant Restaurant

We now know the cause of death for a man found dead this weekend in Valdosta.

Valdosta Police say the report shows Charles Setser died from trauma to the head.

Police have charged Mathew Balich with Felony Murder.

Saturday morning around nine, officers found Setser's body at a vacant restaurant.

"The message here is don't take matters into your own hands. What happen here is two individuals got into an argument and one of them let it get out of hand," said Valdosta Police Commander Brian Childress.

Balich won't get bond because of the felony murder charge.

Saddened and shocked, Kia Battles couldn't believe a homeless man was found dead next door to her job.

She's worked at the Crescent Inn for two years and even remembers giving money to the man police arrested for the murder.

"I gave it to him by the honest of my heart. Being kind," said Battles.

Valdosta Police tell us, Saturday Morning around nine they found the victim's body at the old Loco's restaurant on Gornto Road.

They're not releasing his name or the suspects right now.

Police say the two men were arguing before the victim died.

But they're not saying how.

All that remains is a trail of dried blood and flies feeding off the scene.

"It's scary because you never we right here. It could happen somewhere over there like it happened over here," said Octavia Sirmans, a Crescent Inn employee.

People who work in the area tell me ever since this restaurants closing, this has been a hot spot for homeless people.

But after this murder, it seems many of them might be looking for a new place to call home.

Police say an autopsy will be performed on the victim Monday.

Valdosta Police are investigating a body found outside a vacant restaurant on Gornto road.

Saturday morning around 9, police say they responded to the scene.

They tell WCTV, there was an argument between two homeless men that turned deadly.

A suspect is in custody.

An autopsy on the victim is scheduled for Monday.
