Casey Anthony Attorney 'Surprised by Verdict'

Orlando, Fla -- July 25, 2011 --

One of Casey Anthony's lawyers is speaking out about his infamous client. He says the verdict shocked him and also talks about whether Anthony is selling her story.

"We won, they lost, okay?"

In his gruff manner of speaking, Casey Anthony attorney Cheney Mason tackled tough questions about the case the way you might expect.

"Is it possible, is it possible that Casey Anthony was guilty and got away with murder?"

Mason:

"Well, it's possible you could go to Venus this afternoon."

Speaking with a panel at the Tiger Bay Club about Casey's murder trial, Mason hit on a wide range of topics.

"There are no offers from anyone for books, for movies, for interviews."

Everything from rumors about money to his astonishment at the verdict.

"Was I surprised? The answer is yes."

Even though he believes it was the correct verdict, he was surprised because of all the negative public sentiment surrounding Casey.

"That was the most courageous group of people that I can imagine."

He confirmed Casey is now getting counseling and he believes she is safe for now, although he didn't know how she would survive a life under the microscope.

He blew off exclusive video of a possible Casey sighting at the Orlando Executive Airport from Tuesday, as a joke, and had this to say when asked if he really knows what happened to Caylee.

"I know she drowned in the pool. I've known that since the first day I got in the case."

There was plenty of circumstancial evidence. The jury was comprisedof morons. Use some common sense......31 days of partying, lie after lie after lie, duck tape over her mouth, her tattoo, her internet searches, which her mom lied about to try and cover for her, the nanny story...on and on.

If she drowned in the pool, then the whole family will have to live with their decision of not giving her a proper burial. Other children have drown by accidents in pools and officials have seen them as accidents and I see no reason why this would not have been the case. All I can say is that Miss Anthony and/or her family are guilty of the way her little body was discarded. I don't see where any family member should have paniced and discarded her little body if she should have drown in the pool. Things just do not add up, and this family's consciences are going to bother them for life.

If you are white and absolutely positively want to know how to get away with a murder, make sure your jury is majority white....sheesh.

It doesn't matter anymore...she was found not guilty because the State of Florida didn't have enough evidence to prove anything...so now she is free. She is not a serial killer she just didn't want Caylee and was too selfish to let her mother raise her so she did what she tought she had to do, kill her and move on with her life. The only time anyone will need to worry about Casey Anthony is if she has another child and I pray to God that never happens.
