Prepare to pull up those baggy pants...Or else. If Governor Scott signs off, that will be the law in Florida's public schools beginning this fall.
But, it's that 'or else' that has many school administrators worried their workload could be about to grow. If a student's caught wearing baggy pants, their principal would have to call their parent.
On the second offense, they'd be banned from taking part in extracurricular activities for a full week, and on the third offense, they'd be suspended from school altogether.
By the way, at that point, the principal would have to meet with the parent in-person.
Add to that the long list of other duties a principal faces - everything from evaluating teachers to complying with the class size amendment, and big britches may well prove to be a big burden.
