Massachusetts-

The former Speaker of the House in Massachusetts has been sentenced to eight years in prison for corruption and bribery.

A federal judge says Salvatore DiMasi sold his seat by steering state contracts worth more than 17 million dollars to a software firm in exchange for kickbacks.

Prosecutors say he got about 65-thousand dollars in the scheme.

Since there is no mention of political parties it can only mean this is a DEM and the media is protecing the party. If it were a REP, it be headlines. No bias here, move on.

"Kickback" is such an ugly word. He should have used Mayor Mark's model and call it a "consulting fee", or follow Bill Procter's "paycheck" model.

The difference was amount of convincing evidence. In Sansom's case there was enough evidence to bring charges, but not enough to convict. That doesn't mean he "got off scott free". His life has been turned upside down, he spent a fortune in legal fees, and his reputation seriously tarnished.

Meanwhile Sansom is living it up in his 6th floor condo overlooking Destin, drinking margaritas and tipping the dancing girls. I hear he even has a pole in his living room.

John, that's going to happen immediately after you are convicted of terminal stupidity and sentenced to listen to Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh 24/7/365.
