A hazardous material scare sends the bomb squad to a Tallahassee home.

Police responded to a call on a suspicious package at 8:20 am on October 15th.

Officers found a plastic container around South Lipona Road and Jackson Bluff.

They felt it was unsafe to approach, so they called in the Tallahassee fire department and the Big Bend Regional bomb squad to investigate.

Officer David Northway spoke with WCTV. "They used their resources including their robot to take a look at the container. They were subsequently used to get a sample of the substance inside of it, and it was discovered it was gasoline."

No arrests have been made.

TFD says a black vehicle was seen in the area.

The state fire marshall is now investigating the case.
