An Amber alert has been issued for a Wakulla County child. Authorities are looking for 12-year-old Briana Schultheis who they believe ran away with a registered sex offender.
Wakulla County Sheriff's SGT Patrick Smith says Briana's father hired 31-year-old Raymond Lewis to do odd jobs around the family’s home. Smith says when Briana's mother discovered Lewis was a registered sex offender she fired him.
Authorities believe Briana and Lewis had already formed some sort of relationship. The girl went missing Sunday morning from her Wakulla County home. Briana stands five foot five inches, 140-pounds with blonde hair and brown eyes.
Lewis is said to be five foot nine, 135 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes. Authorities believe the two may be traveling south toward Miami in a white pickup truck.
