Early Voting

Time is running out to cast an early vote in this year's presidential election. In Tallahassee long lines and political pitches greeted voters. They're eager, they're determined and they're spending their Saturday morning in the most mundane manner, waiting in a line.

“This is my first election and I am excited to vote,” said one voter.

“Things going on with war, got to vote and make difference,” added another voter.

Much like at an amusement park the line keeps going and going and going, but at the end you won't find a roller coaster ride, rather a chance to exercise your civil right, a civil right these folks are willing to wait for.

It‘s easy to see why so many are willing to wait hours to make their vote count, but how in the world do you pass the time?

“I'm reading a magazine.”

“I'm playing on my cell phone.”

The moral of the story is don't forget to vote, and don't forget to bring a chair, a book, or simply a buddy. Early voting will continue at the Leon County Courthouse on Monday. After that it's up to you to find your precinct and head to the polls before 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
