There was excitement in the streets of Tallahassee Friday afternoon as FSU’s homecoming parade drew hundreds.
"I liked the homecoming court, seeing the Kings and Queens, but you know what I really liked was the first cheerleader from 1949, that was pretty wild,” says Cindy Matheson, who enjoyed the homecoming parade.
Following the big parade, many headed to the Downtown Getdown and danced the night away.
"It's kind of neat. You've got the adult stuff down here with the live music and a lot of stuff for the kids on the other end, that's where they spend most of their time, so we walk back and forth,” shares Terry Barfield.
"The food is great and the music is great and it's fun to dance on stage,” comments another homecoming participant, Emma Donovan.
For those wanted to laugh a little, the Leon County Civic Center was the place to be as “Larry the Cable Guy” had them rolling in the aisles.
“He's awesome, he's from Tampa, I'm from Tampa, he's awesome,” adds Cable Guy fan, Jamie Conner.
Friday was just a taste of what homecoming at FSU is all about. Kickoff for the big game is Saturday at 12 p.m.
