Mule Day

For one day every year nearly 100,000 people pack into a small Georgia town to honor a four-legged friend, the mule.

Call it southern living, call it a time honored tradition, call it the day of the mule; that's right, on Mule Day in Calvary, Georgia the town comes alive, the children saddle up and the ponies get to steal the show.

From amusing characters to hungry adults, folks are diving into the fun as they walk back through time.

“It's hot and sticky, but not that bad,” said Charles Harrison with the Calvary Lions Club, when asked about homemade syrup that was hot and flying off the shelves.

Folks in these parts never leave Mule Day empty handed.

“I bought cake, syrup, earrings, I bought everything!” shared one shopper.

Mule Day started in Calvary, Georgia 32 years ago.
