Tow to Go

Local law enforcement wants people to think before they get behind the wheel this Super Bowl Sunday. Police say there's no excuse to drink and drive. Starting Sunday, AAA in Florida is offering a free tow to anyone who's had too much to drink.

Alcohol and football seem to go hand in hand, but mix alcohol and driving and you're in for trouble.

"Anytime we have a major sporting event or during the holidays, the DUIs pick up. We make more arrests and there are more accidents with injuries," said LT Brian Donaldson with the Tallahassee Police Department.

AAA in Florida is offering "Tow to Go.” You don't have to be a member, you don't have to pay, all they need to know is that you've been drinking and you need a ride home.

Tallahassee has a fleet of eight trucks lined up and ready for calls, but one driver says last year he only responded to one "Tow to Go."

"I guess it's not real wide known around here, but it is a large program that AAA does. They've been doing it for quit a while," said Scott Parks, a Tow to Go driver.

They want to get the word out so you know there's no reason to drink and drive. Individuals who may have had too much to drink this Super Bowl Sunday can call Tow to Go at 1-800-AAA-HELP.
