Leon County, Florida - January 3, 2012

The Florida Highway Patrol says that 40-year-old Stephanie Recoy was killed in a fatal accident on US-90, just west of Baum Road. It happened around 7 this morning.

Recoy was heading eastbound on U.S.-90 (State Road 10) in a 2011 Dodge SUV when, for an unknown reason, Recoy left the eastbound lane and entered the south shoulder. The SUV continued eastbound on the shoulder and the right side of the SUV struck a tree. After impact with the first tree, the SUV rotated clockwise off of the tree and overturned. The roof of the SUV then struck a second tree. The SUV was found at final rest facing southwest with it's roof against the second tree on the south shoulder.

It is unknown at this time if alcohol was a factor, according to the FHP report. Relatives have been notified. A seat belt was in use. There is no word yet on what caused the accident.

Recoy was the only person in the vehicle.

PAY ATTENTION PLEASE! I said IF she was texting while driving then I would have no sympathy for her just the way I would have no sympathy for someone driving drunk who was killed. So she wasn't texting (or drunk) whild driving so I'm sorry for the family's loss. People who are killed while texting/driving (and hopefully on kill themselved in the accident) proves Darwin's theory of evolution to be correct that only the strongest survive - people who text and drive are too stupid to survive.

Your original post that upset several people was deleted. Now you come back defending yourself, not apologizing. Whatever your thoughts are on texting or whatever, the fact is the community has lost a person who meant a lot to the people that knew her. They're grieving and/or conveying their condolences publicly on this site. Frankly, it's childish, selfish, and plain inappropriate to comment in any other way. To do so, and then to try and defend yourself with a weak apology and a vague reference to Darwin, shows the small little mind you have. Your belief is people will listen to you, the fact is this community has no use for you. Grow up.
