Pianist Marvin Goldstein has performed for more than 40 years, but Thursday night was the performance of his life.
Marvin says, "We had the turnout we needed. We got the money we needed to send and we'll have totals very soon."
Goldstein, along with vocalist Pam Laws, gave a concert entitled "Peace With Music," benefiting the Florida Hurricane Relief Fund and the Red Cross Tsunami Fund.
Marsha Cantrell, a concert-goer, says, "Not only was the music beautiful, but the message that they shared was very inspiring and it does make one pause and think and appreciate the lives we have."
Eugenia Bing, also concert-goer, adds, "I'm a very poor lady because I have around the clock care, but I'm going to scrape together some money tomorrow to send because it's so worthy."
Those in attendance say the music put them in a spirit of remembrance.
Pam Laws shares, "To be a part of a circle like this, it's a privilege and an honor to be asked to be a part of it."
Thursday's concert paid respect to those who've suffered, but was also a celebration of life.
