For the kids, a fun-filled day of games and prizes is also an opportunity to learn about summer safety.
The Grady County EMS held an all-day community event to teach children the importance of safety.
"We're all learning about safety of different things like water safety, bicycle safety and stuff like that, and we're all having a great time," said Sarita Finn.
Each of the booths provided different information for children and interactive activities so that they could learn and have fun at the same time.
One EMS volunteer says this event also helps make his job easier.
"To keep us from having to go out there and helping situations; to keep them from getting hurt on four wheelers, swimming and playing with fire," shared one EMS worker.
These lessons were important for kids, "Because if somebody in your family gets hurt or something, you will know what to do," added Salina Williams.
It has parents feeling more confident about their child's safety this summer. Saturday’s summer safety event in Grady County was part of EMS Week.
