The search is on for yet another Valdosta bank robber. It's the third bank robbery in the past month, and investigators need your help in tracking down the latest robber.

The First State Bank on Valdosta's Norman Drive was robbed just before noon Monday, making it the fourth Valdosta robbery in the past month and the third to happen at a bank.

"He walked up to one of the tellers, indicated he had a weapon, didn't display one, and demanded money," said Valdosta Police spokesman Brian Childress.

The teller handed over the money and the suspect got away in a brown or tan colored 1980s model car.

Valdosta Police say at this point there's no need for bank tellers in the Azalea City to be overly concerned about a robbery happening again, but officers ask all bank employees to be extra careful and keep an eye out for suspicious activity.

"Be cautious and if you see anything suspicious; go ahead and hit that alarm or call 9-1-1. I'd rather be safe than sorry," said Childress.

Investigators say there is no reason to believe that this robbery is connected to the others in the past few weeks. Officers do think it’s just a matter of time before this robber slips up and brags about the crime.

"These individuals will tell someone else and that person will come forward and advise us," said Childress.

Until then, the search for this and other Valdosta bank robbers will continue. If you have information about Monday’s bank robbery in Valdosta, call the Crime Tip Line at 229-293-3091.
