Recent firings, suspensions and investigations by the NCAA has had many Rattlers on edge.
After a report on the financial status of the university, interim president Castell Bryant announced she wants to create a new position: vice president of compliance.
Castell says, “And then all of the other persons at the university responsible for compliance in any area will report to that person. That person will have a dotted line to the audit committee of this board, because compliance is important, it’s our way of being accountable.”
Bryant says she'll begin advertising for the position next week. FAMU trustees also approved the operational budget for 2005-2006.
By doing so, four sports had to be cut: swimming, diving, golf and tennis. We'll have much more on the FAMU Board of Trustees’ meeting later on Eyewitness News.
