Alligator Point couldn't escape the wrath of Hurricane Dennis; it took a heavy beating Sunday.
There were high winds and torrential rain as Dennis made its approach, forcing high waves to rip porches and docks from beachside homes.
We found one home nearly falling into the Gulf, but despite that many residents stuck around to ride out the storm.
"We're tired of leaving. The last time we were here it was just waves and water. It didn't do a whole lot, it just tears up the road down there and trees," said one Alligator Point resident braving the storm.
Our crews couldn't stay long because quite a few roads were washed over by flood waters. We'll bring more of the aftermath of the storm when are crews are able to get there.
