Cairo police say a gas tanker has struck a guard rail at a gas station along Highway 84.
The accident spilled 2,000 gallons of gas, and now police are asking drivers to avoid the area. The accident happened late Thursday afternoon.
Cairo Police Chief Keith Sandefur says police are diverting traffic between First Avenue and Fifth Street.
The chief says the spill is contained and no one was injured.
