Lakeland, Georgia Police Officer Arrested
A Lakeland, Georgia police officer has been arrested on drug charges and fired from his job.

Police say 25 year old Brian King was arrested for possession of powder cocaine, crack cocaine and other drugs just outside Homerville last night.

King lives in Homerville and is a police officer in nearby Lakeland. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation says King will be charged with four counts of possession of drugs with the intent to distribute them.

"Well, I was a little bit mad about it because when you're trying to be a law officer you're supposed to be drug free and everything," says Lakeland resident James Lamardent.

Lakeland police chief Robbie Grantham tells us King has been let go from the department. The chief says this kind of behavior will not be tolerated.

I am not suprised! Lakeland law enforcement have been corrupt for years. They are in on all the drug dealing in Lakeland GA!

king, what come around goes around, ive been clean 5 yrs.but i remember when i was trying to get clean, you and your crue tried to put me back in it, to bust some black boys in lakeland.when clyde was sherriff.ha ha ha
