Tallahassee's Cascades Park is on its way to a massive cleanup. The park has been condemned for decades due to contamination.
Earlier this week the city came to agreement with WRS Infrastructure to clean the park at a cost of $7.8 million, half of which is being picked up by the state.
Commissioners approved the agreement but said they'd like to see cleanup start sooner than the next 90 days as promised.
Cleanup is estimated to wrap up by mid next year. The city will then be able to start working on development.
