Tropical storm Tammy shouldn't affect the gas supply for those in the Big Bend. But many drivers were still greeted with bags over the pumps Wednesday.
The Florida Petroleum Marketers Association says gas stations are still limited in the amount of gas they can buy because of hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
They say some gas stations may even run out of gas, but we shouldn't get worried.
Jim Smith, Florida Petroleum Marketers, said, "It's just a matter that their waiting for their allocation. if they have a contract for a hundred thousand gallons a month they're now only allowed to but 75 thousand gallons a month so they might have to wait an extra day."
Smith says to expect further price jumps as the higher cost of wholesale gas makes its way toward the pumps.
