Walkers lace up their walking shoes all in the sake of fighting cancer.
All across the country and here in our backyard people are walking as part of Light the Night to build awareness and raise funds to help prevent blood cancers.
Joan Smith walked Thursday night in downtown Tallahassee to celebrate her fight against leukemia.
"I'm here as a survivor and I'm so proud to be a survivor and just to be part of this fundraising event,” says Smith.
Money raised from Light the Night supports research for Leukemia, Lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and Myeloma.
Our own Sarah Grady emceed the event.
