As the 38th Annual Thomasville Fly-In kicks off, one organization is giving folks the chance to glide through the sky.
The Rose City Soaring Association is offering glider rides. Members say the glider is towed by an airplane up 2,000 feet and then released.
Passengers fly with a licensed pilot, but have the chance to control the glider.
Members say this is a unique experience.
Bill Lordin of the Rose City Soaring Association says, "The club would like to see everybody have the chance to fly without noise, and the gliders are the way to do that. They're normally certified aircrafts that behave like other aircrafts except they don't have engines."
The Thomasville Fly-In takes place all weekend and is free to the public.
