The president is expected to name a new nominee as early next week.
Florida Sen. Bill Nelson says the president would be wise to select a Latino woman with the same humility and ability of the new chief justice.
"He needs another John Roberts who has the same kind of humble attitude, who is not ideological, who says he will not, he or she will not let their personal feelings overturn following the rule of law, and that that person ought to be a Hispanic female," he says.
If the president goes to the far right with his next nomination, Nelson predicts an all out fight in the Senate and a possible filibuster by the Democrats.
