Some 75 evacuees have been staying at the Red Cross shelter at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on Thomasville Road.
The Red Cross plans to close the shelter in the next few days, once it makes more stable housing arrangements for all the evacuees.
Chris Floyd, Emergency Services Director, says, "Our plan over the next couple of days is to transition from shelter to place all those individuals in hotel rooms for at least 14 days as we then develop our long-term housing plan."
Floyd says he's conducting an in depth survey to see how many evacuees plan on living Leon County. Once that's completed he'll try to find long-term housing for those displaced residents.
