Gadsden Memorial Hospital remains closed after the Agency for Health Care Administration ordered it to immediately cease operations.
Saturday, hospital board members and consultants held an emergency meeting. The group is trying to get the hospital up and running for Gadsden County residents.
Board members discussed using a trust fund to expedite the process. Hospital employees attended the meeting hoping to get more word of their job status.
Jon McCarthy, a paramedic at Gadsden Memorial Hospital, said, "The meeting went pretty much as I expected. I wasn't really expecting too many answers because again, these aren't the county commissioners, and since it just happened."
Board members were unable to answer many questions for hospital employees, only that they should know more on Monday following a meeting between county commissioners and the Agency for Health Care Administration.
