Marco Rubio was named Speaker of the House during a ceremony Tuesday afternoon at the House of Representatives chambers. He begins serving the two year term next November. He is the first Cuban American in Florida history to rise to the influential position.
"I think it is a recognition of political maturity in our community, but I think the most important thing is that a Cuban American is going to be speaker most important thing is that it didn't matter."
Rubio is an attorney who represents Miami Dade County in the house. Governor Jeb Bush will be leaving office a few months after Rubio takes over, but says he's looking forward to working with him.
